Fathers and Son Reunion, or Three Men and a Nephilim
A Supernatural poem by Doris @doris_helmick
Our first verse for the #SPNWishList fic and art challenge! Doris responded to the prompt: "Fathers and son reunion." Enjoy! -- Jennie
But sometimes, it’s in realms where evil, trust often breaks,
And families bear the bonds that love, in hardship, makes.
Among Hunters, the innocent must be protected.
Proof obtained, and a Nephilim child’s not rejected.
Two men, one broken angel, an orphan without hope.
A son, an innocent indeed, trust gained, love will cope.
Time moves, training begins, laughter, a part of learning.
Cases solved, fam’ly formed, Jack’s grace is slowly burning.
The love of his fathers, Sam, Dean, and Cas: Jack does crave.
Nephilim, thought so deadly, now holds a heart so brave.
But Chuck, self-proclaimed writer of all men’s destiny,
Has his secrets; fears a child more powerful than he.
Chuck rewrites the manuscript, resetting the whole plot.
Destruction, death, grief, loss, pain was what his ego wrought.

What Chuck never respected, Winchesters know soul-deep.
Father’s love, Chuck can’t conceive the promises they keep.
Nothing breaks the family bond, not death, not broken hearts.
Forgiveness builds reunion’s peace, love, its grace imparts.

Cas rescues Jack, brings him home, Grigori’s heart forfeit.
The Bunker, his solace; he fears the loss, he’ll admit.
Sam cries out in surprise, his son, this Nephilim child.
No hesitation, Sam hugs him; Jack’s heart beats so wild.

Dean’s heavy burden, so often guilt, and anger fueled.
He sees Jack, face full of fear, eyes with tears bejeweled.
Dean stares at Cas, their forgiveness fresh, now is Jack’s.
Tenuous trust restored, fam’ly has each other’s backs.

So, now ’round the table, the Empty’s plan is revealed.
Jack’s returned to his family, fate apparently sealed.
But Chuck, Death, the Empty; Winchesters have defeated.
Now they’ll fight a hack writer’s awful plot repeated.

Fathers and sons, not always an easy alliance.
Sometimes created in easy, joyful acceptance. But sometimes, it’s in realms where evil, trust often breaks,
