Finale musings, or Why it's tough to Carry On

DISCLAIMER: All opinions and feelings about the Supernatural finale are valid. I am not trying to change any minds here. I'm just giving my own perspective, for what it's worth, which is no more or less than what YOUR perspective is worth. Or anyone's. This is how I, and only I, see the story. As always, YMMV. And that's a beautiful thing. <3 You can deeply appreciate something... and still wish you had more. You can say thank you for your 8-ounce coffee, and even take a moment to be amazed by all the work by so many that it took to get it from a mountain in South America or Africa to your waiting, cold hands... and still wish you'd gotten the 12-ounce. And you can really, really wish you'd gotten a donut to go with it.  I guess that's how I feel about the finale of Supernatural.  It was a beautiful piece of work. Especially the performances. Naturally. And as a story, in my opinion, it wasn't a bad one. In fact, I wrote something kind of like it , my...

Unsaid

Unsaid A Supernatural story by Jennie  @DeanIsntFine Featuring Dean Winchester  @DWImpala67 This is the fifth of my VBF stories, featuring my best fictional friend. It is set immediately after 15.18 "Despair." To read the others, click: Part 1:  "VBF" Part 2:  "Welcome to Rocky's" Part 3:  "Last Call" Part 4: "Nourished" (Apologies to Mr. Spielberg, Mr. Connery, and Dr. Henry Jones Sr.) GIFs from Canon SPN Gifs on Tumblr I stepped carefully across the threshold, into Room 7B. Into the dungeon. There was a sharp tang in the air, like ozone after a storm, and a faint smell of… rot. Corruption.  I’d seen the black, bottomless force that had invaded this room. I’d seen it through his eyes.  I’d seen it take Castiel, and Death along with him.  I inched between the shelves, past the room’s lone chair, across the devil’s trap etched into the concrete floor.  My best friend was there in the dim, propped up against the brick wall, head in h...

Perfect Match

Perfect Match A Supernatural story by Jennie  @DeanIsntFine Here's a fun little snack, first served up in the form of a Twitfic... and inspired by a message from this real-life warrior...  Glad I had the chance to help bring this little wish to life. Enjoy.   I love you both, too. So much. 💗🔥💗🙏🏼 (Also, now I‘m really wishing I’d had the opportunity to dress you in matching outfits as children.) — Samantha Smith (@SamSmithTweets) August 26, 2020 Dean tugged at the starched collar on his boldly striped Healthtex polo shirt, wincing.  He was getting too old for this junk. With his left hand, he held on loosely to the side of the Piggly Wiggly shopping cart. His right hand snaked into the pocket of his crisp, navy blue OshKosh corduroy overalls to fiddle with the illicit treasure that lay within. A small box of Diamond strike-anywhere matches.  Dean knew his mom would kill him if she found out he had these. But how could he resist? They were just lying there i...

Maybe Dreams Come True

Maybe Dreams Come True A Supernatural story by Mich  @raiahome You've read Mich's  Tales from Baby ... now she's branching out! Always nice to have another talented friend dishing out the painnnnn. Enjoy.  -- Jennie John woke up in the hospital, banged up and bandaged, and listened to his youngest son give him the rundown of what the doctors had said about Dean.  He saw the fear in Sam’s eyes, the same fear that filled his own heart, but he also saw the determination. The absolute loyalty and love the boy had for his brother. He saw a strength there he had never recognized before.  For the first time in a long time, he actually looked at Sam and, instead of seeing a boy with demon blood in him, a boy that could be a danger to Dean and the whole world, he saw his son. He saw the nervous energy driving Sam to pace as he tried to reassure his father and himself that everything would be all right, that Dean would be all right. John saw Sam’s eyes dart around as his ...

The Other Guys, Part 2 A Supernatural story by Milisa  @440MXS_wife The #SPNWishList fic and art challenge is rolling again! Thanks to Milisa, once again, you, the reader, become the star in an angsty, romantic tale of the AU!Winchesters, misunderstandings and life in the bunker. Read Part 1 here . Enjoy the conclusion!  -- Jennie Soon, the three of you were in your 1968 Chevy Nova, rambling down the highway into town. You recently installed a new stereo with a CD player in your car. You knew that Dean hated it, because it wasn’t in keeping with such a classic car. However, it was your car, and since the driver picks the music, you had a CD player. Alt!Sam was sitting shotgun, so you asked him to pull out your collection of CDs. “Now, normally, the person riding shotgun doesn’t get to decide what music we listen to. Since you’re the guest, I’ll let you choose,” you said to Alt!Sam. He unzipped the case and flipped through your choices. “Seems to be a lot of classic rock in her...

Thanks to Milisa, once again, you, the reader, become the star in an angsty, romantic tale of the AU!Winchesters, misunderstandings and life in the bunker. Enjoy!  -- Jennie GIF from SPN Canon GIFs on Tumblr You spent the weekend at Jody’s catching up with Donna, Charlie, Jody, and Eileen on a “Girls Only Weekend” in Sioux Falls. Facials and manicures were done, and the girls helped you put some golden highlights in your light chestnut hair.  “I’m telling ya, girlie, if this doesn’t turn Dean's head, nothing will,” Donna remarked. “Oh come on, Donna, let’s get real, shall we? I’d have to change a hell of a lot more than my hair for Dean to notice me," you stated. "Besides, he's so wrapped up in the current crisis with Chuck, I doubt he sees anything but that.” You added, softly: “Let alone realize if something about me had changed.”  You clea...
