Kelly's Song

Kelly's Song A Supernatural poem by Doris  @doris_helmick Our second verse for the #SPNWishList fic and art challenge! Doris wrote this a while back but thought it would fit nicely in the challenge. And boy, it surely does. Get your tissues, moms!  -- Jennie I have to be going, my little one. My arms will never feel your weight. But I cannot stay, my beloved son. Jack, know this, if you know naught else: The cost of my love was never too great. One Angel's dark grace gave the gift of life. But Castiel's great love gives you hope. A cry sliced the Empty, sharp as a knife. An Angel, two brothers hold you: This is your fam'ly; they will help you cope. I see you, my son, through Heaven's gold mist. Struggles, losses... painful to see. I'm sad that your cheek, I never once kissed. Your sweet baby smile, never seen: Destiny's promise was life free from me. Breathtakingly pure, the light of your soul. A match to Dean's, bright...

Fathers and Son Reunion, or Three Men and a Nephilim

Fathers and Son Reunion, or Three Men and a Nephilim A Supernatural poem by Doris  @doris_helmick Our first verse for the #SPNWishList fic and art challenge! Doris responded to the prompt: "Fathers and son reunion."  Enjoy! -- Jennie Fathers and sons, not always an easy alliance. Sometimes created in easy, joyful acceptance. But sometimes, it’s in realms where evil, trust often breaks, And families bear the bonds that love, in hardship, makes. Among Hunters, the innocent must be protected. Proof obtained, and a Nephilim child’s not rejected. Two men, one broken angel, an orphan without hope. A son, an innocent indeed, trust gained, love will cope. Time moves, training begins, laughter, a part of learning. Cases solved, fam’ly formed, Jack’s grace is slowly burning. The love of his fathers, Sam, Dean, and Cas: Jack does crave. Nephilim, thought so deadly, now holds a heart so brave. But Chuck, self-proclaimed writer of all men’s destiny, Has his secr...

Crowley Revisited

Crowley Revisited A Supernatural story by Ariana  @arianaspn61497 Our latest entry in the #SPNWishList fic and art challenge! Ariana responded to the prompt: "Crowley meets Jack in the Empty." This is a great answer to a "What if?" kind of question... both characters sound so very authentic. When I got to the end, I felt like a kid listening to a bedtime story. You will definitely be left wanting more! -- Jennie Jack is so confused.  He saw Chuck snap his fingers and felt pain, then there was just darkness. Jack was prepared to die, because he knew Dean couldn’t get over Mary’s death. He understood why Dean wanted him dead, but he didn’t understand why Dean didn’t kill him. It all happened so fast when Chuck arrived. Something had been going on between the Winchesters and Chuck that Jack didn’t understand. Castiel was there too, and he tried to protect Jack. Now Jack was alone in what he assumed was the Empty. The entity there had wanted to take hi...

Surprise

Surprise A Supernatural story by Lara  @Larrs9325 The first entry in the #SPNWishList fic and art challenge! Lara responded to the prompt: "Christmas in the bunker." I think you'll enjoy these sweet scenes! -- Jennie “Shh!” she admonishes the artificial Christmas tree as she drags its box down the corridor. It is a little after midnight, the wee hours of December 24th.  She’s seen quite a few late nights this month. Turns out, it’s nearly impossible to be sneaky while living with two dudes and a nephilim who barely sleep and an angel who doesn’t sleep at all.  But she’s good.   In recent weeks, she went on a handful of outings to a local 24-hour store to obtain supplies and stashed ’em in a cobweb-infested storage room without anyone being the wiser.  Finally, it’s time for her schemes to pay off. Her boys are getting a real Christmas this year. She heaves the box all the way to the back of the Bunker’s library and...

Thinky Thoughts: Angels just don't get it

Image
I set out to write a post that was sort of an elaboration on all the thoughts I had while watching -- and rewatching -- Steve Yockey's masterpiece "Nihilism." Turns out, it's gonna be three posts. Maybe more. So, so sorry. 😁 The thing that stuck with me the most was the ultimate invasion of Michael, to see Dean's thoughts, to spew them back out on the ones Dean loves. We've all had unkind thoughts about people we love. It's human nature. And Dean has been burdened... he's been hurt badly by the people he loves the most. (Yes, he's done his share of hurting too.) He's got to be more conflicted than anyone, in terms of his feelings for Sam, Cas and even Jack. Sam: His burden, his mission. The one who abandoned him. The one who betrayed him. The one who forsook him. Cas: Was meant to be his protector. Betrayed him, failed him, disappointed him more than once. (And remember all those times? "Cas, you child." "Baby i...

Family is there ... even when it hurts

Image
It's not often we see a promotional shot from the CW that features all of Team Free Will 2.0... and even if this is a Photoshop chop job, I liked it as soon as I saw it.  First of all, I see no evidence of the (frankly insulting) airbrushing they did to earlier, solo versions of these photos... And we're all feeling some angst through Hellatus with Dean back under the thrall of Michael.  So I was inspired (thanks @dottweets for the photo editing) to make a little something to remind us what Supernatural is really about. ❤❤❤

VBF

Image
VBF A Supernatural story by Jennie @DeanIsntFine Featuring Dean Winchester @DWImpala67 This is the first of my VBF stories, featuring my best fictional friend. It is set in Season 14, right after "Unhuman Nature." To read the others, click: Part 2:  "Welcome to Rocky's" Part 3: "Last Call" Part 4:  "Nourished" As I climb into bed, I reach out over the edge, extending my hand into the empty darkness. As a child, I never had an “under the bed.” My dad built all the beds in my house, all with flat boards as a base and storage drawers underneath. Nowhere for monsters to hide. So I’d never had to fear them. My best friend kills monsters. Where he lives, they’re real.  When I reach out into the dark, sometimes I can feel his hand grasp mine. Sometimes… *** “Dean…” I call out to him with my mind. As I close my eyes for sleep, I can see the bunker’s tile hallways take shape out of the darkness. My bare fe...

Wondering where we'll fit Michael!Dean... so far, I've got him at the very top.

Fading Away, Chapter 2

Image
Fading Away, Chapter 2 A Supernatural story by Axy @Aaaahhhxy 48 hours earlier Jimmy was wrong. This didn’t feel like being chained to a comet. If it were, it would be much, much easier. Instead, it probably felt like being at the center of the molecular equivalent of a permanent big bang. The pain alone was on a level even he, Dean Winchester, the man who had died over a hundred times, never knew before. Every nerve, every joint, every inch of flesh was on fire all the time. Michael wasn’t benevolent with his newly found vessel, and nothing was spared to the hunter. He felt everything, and yet, wasn’t in control of anything, and it was driving him insane. He was locked in a dark corner of his own mind, and had known little to no relief from the moment that son of a bitch of a thief broke their deal. But what other choice had he had? Even if he suffered for eternity, it was worth it. Knowing that they’d ended that bastard, that he’d relieved his brother of the...
