Sam and Chuck's Rubber Band A Supernatural story by Ariana  @arianaspn61497 One more entry in the #SPNWishList fic and art challenge! One wasn't enough for Ariana! She  responded to the prompt: "Sam and Chuck's wounds (and their link)." This story even dips a toe into the strange, cosmic relationship between Chuck and Amara. If you ask me, it's the key to everything. Enjoy!  -- Jennie GIF by Canon SPN GIFs on Tumblr Sam sits up in bed, his body covered in sweat, with a pounding headache.  He has not been sleeping well at all lately. He keeps having horrible nightmares. In them, Sam is killing Dean or Dean is killing Sam.  It is the very thing neither brother has ever wanted. They have fought against it for so long.  Could it be Sam’s depressed brain going over the worst scenarios as the world falls apart around them? Sam gets up and walks to his sink, splashing cold water on his face. He looks in the mirror at the bags under his eye...

Don't You Cry No More

Don't You Cry No More A Supernatural story by Jennie  @DeanIsntFine The story that started with a (very) random tweet. Thank you, Season 15 Script Bot . Dedicated to Melissa , who never lets us forget that Dean Winchester matters. Here's one imagined ending to his epic journey. -- Jennie DEAN comes over, he hands DEAN a number of toy soldiers on a bed. — SEASON 15 SCRIPT (@spn_bot) November 25, 2019 The peace talks were progressing around the bunker's map table. Dean, sidelined like a weary general after a long and brutal campaign, watched the proceedings from a darkened corner of the war room. Chuck and Jack faced off across a chess board, while the negotiations' true players huddled at the far end of the table. Amara. Rowena. Cas. And Billie, who it turned out had always held all the cards. The uneasy truce was holding, and crucial details were being hammered out. Chuck and Jack, adversaries for now on the checkered field of the game board, eyed ...

Celebrating #SPN300: Season 11, "Don't Call Me Shurley"

My most #UnpopularOpinion? Take away the introduction of the British Men of Letters, and Season 11 would have been an excellent way for Supernatural to end. IKR? People don't like to talk about Supernatural ending. But the Chuck and Amara storyline is so satisfying to me, and it brings the show absolutely full circle. Those who know me well have heard me wax philosophical about that... how the loss of Mary robbed John and the boys of the divine influence of the feminine, the maternal, and threw their lives irreparably out of balance. Years later comes the revelation that all of creation has been suffering under this split from the beginning... that the universe has a yin and a yang, a masculine and a feminine. Amara, the Darkness, is the Big Bad through the season, but really she's just an angry woman who has been silenced, who is screaming to be heard. I mean... we can relate, right? So the show-long theme of two halves being made whole comes to a brilliant end a...

"Beyond Oblivion," featuring Sam and Dean Winchester, Amara and the Mark of Cain

Image
My son is a big fan of the metal band Trivium, and we scored tickets to their show a few weeks back...  Taking the boy (he's 13) to his first real metal concert brought some trepidation for his dad and me... but we were quickly surprised -- both by the friendly, caring tone of the band and its frontman, Matt Heafy , and the fun-loving, diversely aged crowd.  My husband and I weren't the oldest people in attendance, and their were far younger kids in the audience than my son. In all it was a massively entertaining good time (we had industrial-strength ear protection), and Trivium gained a couple of ardent new fans. Their song "Beyond Oblivion" is about runaway technological advancement and the peril it could place on humanity, but the more I listened, the more it sounded to me like an excellent parallel to the end of Season 10, and the beginning of 11, when Sam Winchester unleashes the Darkness upon the world to free his brother from the Mark of Cain.
